Summary
From 1 Timothy 2, the pastor teaches Christians to pray for all people including political leaders, live with dignity and peace regardless of political affiliation, and balance civic engagement with trust in God's sovereignty. Believers should work toward righteousness in their nation while remembering they belong to God's kingdom, not any political party.
Highlights
Prayer is not partisan. You can pray for the people in your own party and you can pray for the people in the other party, whatever that is for you.
If you hate a person to the extent that you cannot pray for them, that is a massive indication that politics has become your god and God is not over your politics.
We are not run by the Republican party. We're not run by the Democrat party. We are run by a different kingdom all together—the kingdom of God and his rules and his statutes.
