Summary
Paul calls Christians to take courage in suffering by anchoring hope in three realities: suffering prepares believers for eternal glory, earthly existence is temporary like camping, and faith will become sight when facing Jesus. This transcendent perspective transforms despair into longing and motivates holy living.
Highlights
Light and momentary, what's awaiting you is billions upon billions of years in the presence of our great God and Savior in a new heavens and a new earth. And that place is so weighty and so amazing that one day you will look back and you will say it was all worth it.
You weren't made to live in a tent. You were made to live in a body that cannot have mental health problems and cannot become diseased. You were made to live in an eternal, perfect body.
We're fighting by faith. And what we long for as people of faith is for our faith to become sight so that the fight of faith is over. One day, the glory of Jesus is going to shine like the sun. You are not going to have to fight to believe because you will see him face to face.
