Summary
Jesus teaches that spiritual fruitfulness comes through abiding in Him as branches remain connected to a vine. The pastor presents abiding as the single word for Christian living, demonstrating how union and communion with Christ produces five types of spiritual fruit: evangelism, Christian character, generosity, good works, and praise.
Highlights
The Christian life is not the complicated thing that so often we have made it. Jesus reduced it all down to one word. Abide.
If we are not evangelizing we are fossilizing. If we are not bringing people to Jesus Christ then like a tree, like a branch, it is dead and produces nothing.
When you spend enough time with Jesus, the beauty of Jesus is seen in us—the luscious life of Christ breathing and beautifying us into the picture and portrait of Jesus himself.
