Addiction
Girls Gone Bible

Summary
Angela and Ari explore how addiction—whether to substances, thoughts, or behaviors—stems from idolatry and attempts to numb pain rooted in childhood trauma. Through personal testimonies and Scripture, they argue that Jesus alone can heal the wounded inner world and break the cycle of sin, offering freedom through surrender, community, and the Holy Spirit's power.
Highlights
Addiction is really just evidence of inner turmoil. Like it's evidence that your inner world is unwell, that you're in pain and that you're running and that you're numbing and that you're just trying so hard to not have to deal with whatever's going on in here.
The root of addiction is idolatry. It's anything that you put above Jesus. Anything, even something that's not damaging or detrimental to your life is an idol.
Every addict is just a worshipper. You're worshiping the wrong thing. You have the ability to channel all of that into your relationship with Jesus.
