Summary
Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:25-33 that anxiety stems from forgetting God's character and our value to Him. By remembering God's faithfulness, power, and willingness to provide—demonstrated through the resurrection—believers can replace anxiety with peace through community, grateful prayer, replacement thoughts, and addressing root fears with gospel truth.
Highlights
Anxiety is a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere.
When I'm experiencing anxiety, it's usually because I have forgotten the character of my God. And when you're experiencing anxiety, I bet the same thing is happening.
The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to change what if questions into even if questions. Even if all my worst fears are realized, I will still be loved, cared for, and shepherded by God.
