Summary
Matthew 6:13 teaches that prayer is God's ordained means of delivering believers from temptation and the power of evil. Jesus instructs disciples to pray for protection from temptation and deliverance from the evil one, emphasizing that the level of one's prayer life determines the level of victory over sin.
Highlights
The level of your prayer life will determine the level of your victory over sin. Little prayer equals little victory over sin in our lives, but big prayer to a big God equates to big victory over sin in our lives.
God wants our holiness more than he wants our happiness, and he's willing to take us on an inconvenient detour if it means that we get to avoid temptation that he knows we're too weak and that we would give in to.
Prayer is the key to avoiding temptation and to being delivered from the evil one. Sin's curse has lost its grip on me when we're in Christ.
