Summary
Luke 24:13-35 presents two disciples walking away from faith after Jesus' crucifixion, disappointed that he didn't meet their expectations. Jesus intercepts them on the road to Emmaus, exposes their misdiagnosis of sin as merely circumstantial, and opens Scripture to show how his death and resurrection fulfill all redemptive history. Their recognition of the risen Jesus restores their faith and hope, demonstrating that Jesus pursues those who abandon him and offers forgiveness, security, and purpose to all who believe.
Highlights
Jesus didn't stay with us because we're good sheep. Jesus stays with us because he's the good shepherd.
You cannot outrun his grace. If you're here and you don't love the God of the Bible, it's because you don't know him.
If God can raise Jesus Christ from the dead, then he can resurrect any dead area of your life.
