Summary
Luke 24 presents the resurrection as the climax of Scripture's unified narrative pointing to Christ. The risen Jesus encounters two discouraged disciples on the Emmaus road, opening their eyes to how the cross and resurrection fulfill all of Scripture—not just solving individual problems but redeeming the entire world and offering all people repentance, forgiveness, and a radically transformed story.
Highlights
Knowing that Jesus is alive isn't actually gonna solve their problem, and I think the same thing is actually true for everyone in the room.
The reason Jesus does this is because if you understand what Jesus was doing on the cross and that Jesus is no longer in the tomb, but he's alive, it doesn't just have the power to change your story, it has the power to change every story.
Jesus isn't just here to help fix a couple things of your life. He's here to fix and change the entirety of your story and the world that you live in.
