Summary
Paul's dramatic conversion from persecutor of Christians to apostle exemplifies how Christ's resurrection and God's mercy transform the worst sinners. The sermon emphasizes that salvation comes through God's undeserved grace and mercy, not moral effort, and invites listeners to receive Christ's forgiveness.
Highlights
If there was never a guy who should have been the leader of the church, who should have written more than half the New Testament, and there was a man who certainly did not deserve the mercy of God, it was the apostle Paul.
When Christians are living in pride, they walk around all snooty, they get offended by everybody else's sin. Paul looked in the mirror, said, I'm the foremost. So today we don't walk around with our nose in the air, with a little Christian swag, we crawl on our knees, thankful for the mercy of God in our own lives.
The gospel is called good news for a reason. It's good news to people who feel broken and far from God.
