Summary
Acts 8 reveals that God uses persecution and scattering to advance the gospel. Though the early church faced upheaval when forced to flee Jerusalem, their identity and calling remained unchanged, and God multiplied spiritual authority among ordinary believers like Philip to reach previously unreached people.
Highlights
In his sovereignty God used a bad thing, the persecution, to accomplish a good thing, the forward movement of the gospel.
The coronavirus has not and cannot alter your fundamental identity as a child of God and ambassador of the king.
When Philip stepped into a position of authority, God endowed him with spiritual authority.
