Jesus confronts the lukewarm church in Laodicea (Revelation 3:14–22) for treasuring worldly success and self-reliance instead of him, calling them to repent and recognize their spiritual poverty so they may receive his true riches and restoration.
Highlights
The danger is that it happens really slowly and that you may never even realize that you're actually getting pulled away from the Lord.
True life doesn't come from you proving yourself. True life comes from realizing you are spiritually bankrupt before a holy God.
Being disciplined by Jesus proves that he loves you as his son, and he wants what is best for your life.
