Summary
The flood narrative reveals God's righteous judgment against humanity's pervasive sin, while demonstrating His mercy in preserving Noah's family—a foreshadowing of Christ as the true ark who bears God's wrath on behalf of believers.
Highlights
If that version of God that has no wrath, has no anger, is just nice and is just soft—do you really want a God where there is no justice and there is no reckoning? Do you really want a God who is indifferent and unmoved by the injustice and the atrocities and the cries of people stuck in a world filled with evil?
The only way that God can rid the world of sin and evil and death without destroying you and me in the process is by taking all of our sin and evil on his shoulders—the waters of God's judgment wash over him instead of us.
There are simply those who are in Christ and those who are not. If you are not in the boat, if you are not in Christ, if it is not his wounds that cover your story, you will not be able to stand on that great day.
