Summary
Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey, prompting varied responses: crowds worship him as King, Pharisees resist in pride, and he weeps over those who miss him. His compassion and confrontation—cleansing the temple—reveal a King who loves deeply enough to challenge sin, demanding total allegiance from all who encounter him.
Highlights
His compassion is what drives him to confrontation. He weeps over the city because he loves them, but then he walks into the temple and clears it out because he loves them. Those are not in conflict. They're connected.
If something is actually harming someone, real love steps in and says, this isn't good for you. And that's exactly what Jesus is doing here.
The same King that wept over you is the same King that's willing to change you. And the beautiful thing is, the Bible tells us that he can change you.
