Summary
Drawing from 2 Peter 1, the preacher argues the Bible deserves trust as the foundation of Christian spiritual practices. He establishes three pillars: historical reliability (archaeological evidence and eyewitness testimony), internal consistency (manuscript accuracy across 6,000+ copies), and prophetic accuracy (300+ Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in Jesus), concluding that believers can embrace informed faith rather than blind faith.
Highlights
I don't want us to live with a blind faith or even some kind of ignorant certainty. I want us to be people of an informed faith. I want us to be people who are able to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
The purpose of the Bible is that it would point beyond itself to Jesus, that we might come to Jesus for life.
It is by his word that God releases you from the power of sin and guilt and shame. It's by his word that God generates life and creates faith and produces change.
