We end up like these women far too often going to the tomb all the time. We try to find hope in money, in approval, in success, in relationships, but all of those are like spices for a dead body. They may cover the smell for a little while, but they will not bring life.
Just because you can't see what God is doing doesn't mean He isn't working. Just because you don't recognize Him doesn't mean He's not there right there with you.
