Sermon
Isaiah 7

Summary
Isaiah 7 exposes how Ahaz relies on political expedience rather than trusting God's promise during national crisis. The sermon argues that firm faith means running to God in trouble, not pursuing self-protective disobedience disguised as piety, and that Jesus fulfills Isaiah's sign of Emmanuel as the ultimate king worthy of trust.
Highlights
God's glory is not found in a bunch of independent Christian people running around doing God's work on their own strength. His glory is found in supplying our needs when we have suffering, crisis, and discomfort in our lives.
The expedient option, although it may seem to be working, maybe you're in that spot right now, it seems to be working. You haven't been caught yet. But there are always consequences to our rebellion.
Waiting on the Lord is like holding a plank position. It's rugged. It's difficult at times. But God will come through for you consequence free.
