Summary
Through 1 Peter 2:1-8, the preacher teaches believers to put away five destructive behaviors (malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, slander) and nourish their faith through God's word, while emphasizing that Jesus Christ—the cornerstone—must remain the foundation of Christian life and identity.
Highlights
Jesus doesn't leave things the same. He doesn't save us and he's like, all right, deuces, see y'all in heaven, have a great life. But he saves us and then it's like he picks us up and he's like, all right, let's get rid of some things.
People are drawn away from hypocrites and they are drawn towards those who are authentic in their faith.
Don't let your faith get messed up by other Christians. In other words, don't let the little stones of the church, people like me, people like you, ruin your faith and get your focus off of who? Off of the cornerstone, Jesus.
