Love Builds Up

Summary
Paul corrects the Corinthian church's misuse of theological knowledge and Christian freedom regarding food sacrificed to idols. Though they rightly understand idols are powerless, their arrogant self-focus ignores weaker believers whose consciences are troubled. Paul redirects them toward love: sacrificing legitimate freedoms to build up and protect vulnerable brothers and sisters in Christ.
Highlights
You can know your freedoms and you can be right about your freedoms, but if you wield that knowledge in an uncaring, unloving way, you're not as mature as you think you are.
Christ died for him, and will you not even give up eating meat for him?
More important than what you know is who knows you. When you know that you are known by the most high creator God of the universe, it does not matter much at all what people know about how much you know.
