Summary
Jesus establishes the greatest commandment: love God exclusively and exhaustively with all your being, and love others as yourself. This target, though impossibly high for human effort alone, is perfectly fulfilled by Christ and becomes the measure of true discipleship through the Spirit's empowerment.
Highlights
A half committed Christian is the most miserable person on earth. He's just enough in the world to be miserable in the presence of God, and he's just enough into God to be miserable in the world.
You will only ever love your neighbor. You will only ever love God as much as you see God's love for you displayed at the cross.
When you put first things first, we get second things thrown in. If you put second things first, we lose both first and second things.
