Summary
Drawing from 1 John 2:3-17, the sermon teaches that truly knowing God fundamentally shapes both how believers live and what they love. Genuine relationship with God produces obedience and love for others, rooted in experiencing God's radical acceptance despite our deepest shame and brokenness.
Highlights
God has seen our brokenness across time and he decided he wanted to step in and rescue us from that. He didn't want to leave us in that and so he sees every part of you and he loves you.
When you see that kind of love that reaches down into the depth of your own brokenness and yet not extend that love to the depth of the brokenness of others—you cannot hate your brother or sister because you've learned that you have no right.
The only person who dares wake up a king at 3 a.m. for a glass of water is a child. That's the kind of access that we have to God.
