Summary
Jesus commands his disciples to love one another as he has loved them, modeling sacrificial, truth-anchored love that distinguishes believers from the world. If we as a church could just do this simple but yet pivotal thing—love one another—we would be transformationally different than any other community.
The kind of love that we're meant to have for one another cannot be about getting, cannot be about taking, cannot be about score keeping. God's kind of love is not about what do you get, but what do you give.
If you try to love one another in your flesh and your own power and your own ability, you will not be able to do it. You will only be able to love one another by being empowered by the Holy Spirit.
