Summary
Jesus reveals his absolute control over events surrounding his betrayal and death while instituting the Lord's Supper in Mark 14:12–31. Though his disciples will deny and abandon him, Jesus offers them—and all who come to him—forgiveness and a place at his table, secured by his blood as the final Passover lamb.
Highlights
Jesus knows he's going to be betrayed by one of his closest followers. He knows he's gonna be denied by the rest of them. And still he offers in the middle of that a way to be redeemed and forgiven.
Jesus is not surprised by our sin. He sees it, he names it. It's why he came. He had to come because of your sin because of my sin that's why Jesus came.
Your life when it feels like it's all unraveling and all the details seem to be spinning out of control—they're not outside of his hands. God is in control of all of the minute details.
