Summary
Drawing from Psalm 96, the sermon teaches that believers exist to worship God as Creator, King, and Judge. Rather than seeking satisfaction through idols—romance, career, family, or religious status—the gospel reveals that Christ's righteousness covers us, enabling us to approach a holy God without fear and worship Him as the center of our lives.
Highlights
God cannot be put in a box. God cannot be domesticated. We are not made as finite creatures to understand the infinite God. We are made to worship the infinite God.
Idolatry is like trying to quench your thirst with Chick-fil-A sauce. These things that we turn into idols, they're great side dishes in our lives, but they can't be the main course.
By faith in Jesus, you can come into the presence of the holy God, holy. You can come without fear of being destroyed because you are covered by the blood and righteousness of Jesus.
