Summary
Paul addresses the Corinthian church's misuse of Christian freedom by teaching that our bodies are made by God, redeemed by Christ, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and destined for resurrection—not vessels for sexual immorality or self-indulgence. True freedom comes from recognizing we are purchased possessions of Christ and responding with glad obedience.
Highlights
We always choose according to our highest desire in the moment. The answer to sin is never trying harder. It means wanting something more.
You were a slave to your own sin and your own flesh and the devil and he purchased you away and gave us a new life. He paid with his own life. That was the cost. To take what he purchased with his own blood and hand it back over to sin, what a betrayal.
Your body is made for so much more dignity and eternal significance than anyone has ever told you. You were made by God. You specifically were created by God and he loves you so much.
