Summary
Moses recounts Israel's 40-year wilderness journey to a new generation at Kadesh Barnea, highlighting how Israel repeatedly chose fear over faith in God's promises. The passage shows God's faithfulness despite human disobedience, and points to Jesus as the true Joshua who leads believers into their promised inheritance.
Highlights
God is only faithful to the promises that he has actually made. We have a tendency to make promises for God.
We live in a great and terrifying world. These things are hard to see. They're hard to obtain. It's scary. It seems that all we can see are the Anakim. There's giants there. But we have been assured in a true, promised land.
Our Joshua, Jesus, obeyed perfectly and has won for us the true, actual, promised land.
