It is very, very difficult and painful to play when you're hurt. It can be very difficult to sing praises to God when you're in the midst of a valley.
Choose to praise despite your personal discouragement. Worship has been misunderstood as something that arises from a feeling, but it is vital that we understand that it is rooted in the conscious act of the will to serve and obey the Lord Jesus Christ.
We should worship knowing that the end is already fixed. So even though we're in the midst of a battle, the reason why we can continue to sing praises to our God is because he already wrote the ending.
