Psalm 42
Cornerstone Church of Ames
Speaker: Tony Lee

Summary
Teaching from Psalm 42–43, the speaker explores how to fight for joy during seasons of spiritual dryness and depression. He identifies two root causes—departure from community and disillusionment with life—and offers three remedies: pouring out pain honestly to God, preaching the gospel to one's own heart, and persistently showing up to meet with God despite dark seasons.
Highlights
You need to learn not just how to preach from a stage, but how to preach to yourself. You need to learn how to preach the gospel into your own heart, so that you can walk with Jesus in a more depthful way.
When you're in a painful season, pain is gonna come out of you some way or another. I wanna encourage you to let it come out of your mouth, to pray what you got, to pour out your pain.
Christianity is a daily walk with Jesus where you go back to the cross and remind yourself of what Jesus did for you. Because of his death and his resurrection, nothing in this life can take us away from him.
