Summary
Romans 8 presents three hopes for suffering Christians: creation will be made new, believers' bodies will be redeemed, and God works all things—suffering and blessing alike—toward our ultimate good of being conformed to Christ's image and eternally glorified.
Highlights
The groaning of creation is the groaning of childbirth. Something greater is being produced. The futility that we experience in our work, the futility that we experience in our lives is leading to a great hope.
If all you can do is yell, just do that. Because the Holy Spirit was put in your life to help you pray, not to make prayer a burden that is impossible. Prayer is for ordinary, average, broken Christians who are suffering deeply.
God's agenda for us on this side of heaven is not for our earthly happiness, it's for our eternal good and here is our eternal good, to be conformed to the image of Jesus.
