Summary
Paul teaches that God's sovereign choice in election is not based on human background, ethnicity, or effort, but entirely on God's free mercy. Believers are saved solely through God's grace, which glorifies God's character and ensures He alone receives credit for salvation.
Highlights
The only thing that I can think of that differentiated the two of us was the grace of God. That's it. We have the same background. And yet, one of us is in Christ and the other one is without Christ.
Your salvation and Jacob's salvation, and every person who's ever been saved in human history's salvation is entirely dependent upon the mercy of God.
In our effort to understand God, we miss out on the greater opportunity to worship God.
