Summary
Jesus confronts the Jews during Hanukkah about their rejection of Him as Messiah. Through His miracles and testimony, Jesus has clearly revealed His identity, yet the Jews refuse to believe because they are not His sheep. Jesus offers eternal security to those who follow Him while warning of the consequence of unbelief.
Highlights
God is always giving us plenty of evidence that He is who He says He is, and Jesus is doing the exact same thing.
There is nothing else in life that you will ever find that affords this type of security. There is no safety apart from Jesus Christ. There is only death and uncertainty.
Apart from the work of the Holy Spirit, you would be a Pharisee too. We need to find humility and comfort that it's God from start to finish.
