Summary
Paul's conclusion to Ephesians calls believers to recognize they are in a spiritual war against Satan, not flesh and blood. The pastor argues Christians must correctly identify their enemy and equip themselves with Christ's armor—truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, God's Word, and prayer—to fight effectively.
Highlights
If you live as though you are at peace when you are actually at war, then you create a very dangerous situation not just for yourself but for everyone around you.
If you don't have a real devil in your story then you will end up demonizing other people because you can't rid the world of evil but you will simply relocate the source of it.
The central problem is always in the midst of the people of God not the circumstances surrounding them—the church of the Lord Jesus Christ individually or corporately tending to do the Lord's work in the power of the flesh rather than of the spirit.
