Summary
Psalm 84 reveals that the blessed life comes not from acquiring external things—money, status, relationships—but from God's presence and community with His people. The psalmist demonstrates three marks of blessing: worshiping God with others, finding strength in the Lord through difficulty, and trusting God as our shield and provider.
Highlights
The blessed life is not found in whatever we were filling in the blank with. The blessed life is found in something that Christians already have, which is the presence of God and is available to all people, which is a relationship with Christ.
Maturity gives us perspective, gives believers a perspective to allow us to see that many of the things that we physically want won't spiritually satisfy.
The strength that a believer has in difficult situations is not supplied by them, but by the Lord.
