Summary
Habakkuk chapter 3 presents a threefold response to suffering: a prayer of remembrance asking God to revive His work, a poem of deliverance recalling God's past salvation, and a praise of confidence declaring joy in the Lord despite loss. The sermon teaches that real peace comes from placing faith in God's sovereignty rather than circumstances, illustrated through the life of missionary Adoniram Judson who rejoiced despite losing two wives and seven children.
Highlights
When there's a gap between God saying that he will save us in the future and the feeling that we have in our present circumstances, we should beg God for mercy. Why? Because it gives us real peace, even when our situation would dictate otherwise.
When life deals a though, we fight back with a yet. When the evil one tries to derail you with a though, we hit him with a yet, why? Because the Lord is where we find our joy and our strength.
If you want real peace, you are only gonna find it in the Lord. If you want real peace, take the joy of the God of your salvation.
