Summary
Jesus demonstrates absolute authority over creation—calming a storm with a word and casting out demons—revealing his divine power and challenging followers to obey him completely rather than postpone commitment to future seasons.
Highlights
Jesus is not interested in a large crowd that is caught up in hype about what he is doing. He just draws a line in the sand, and he says, hey, everyone who wants to follow me, come with me.
In moments like this, it isn't that Jesus doesn't care. He's just not afraid of the same things that you are. Because if you are a Christian, his life is joined to you. But he's not afraid of the same things you are because, unlike you, he is actually in control of them.
The wind and the waves, they obey Jesus. The forces of darkness, even the darkest forces in this world, they bend their knee and they obey Jesus as well. The question is, do you?
