Summary
Matthew 14:13–36 presents Jesus feeding 5,000 in a wilderness and walking on water, revealing that following Christ means partnering with God to accomplish impossible things through faith, not merely observing His power from a distance.
Highlights
Christianity isn't just an invitation to agree to a certain set of theological propositions. It's more than just an invitation to watch God do something in the world. It's an invitation to partner with God in bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth.
It's actually in the gap between what we know we can do and what we can accomplish with our own gifts and skills and abilities—it's in that gap where we step from security out into the void to accomplish what God has called us to do—it's in stepping out into that void that we begin to experience the power and presence of God.
You're like people who yes you've been healed yes Jesus has done amazing things in your life but you have only touched the very edges of my clothing. There's so much more for you. Would you come? Would you continue to get closer?
