Summary
Teaching Matthew 15:21-28, the pastor reveals how Jesus's seemingly harsh treatment of the Canaanite woman demonstrates his profound grace. Through silence and challenge, Jesus strips away her false assumptions—that she must be Jewish, that she must deserve salvation—to teach her that grace flows freely to the undeserving who simply ask.
Highlights
The safest place to be yourself is around Jesus. He made you, he designed you, he knows every part of you. Pretending to be someone you are not is a useless game with Christ.
Jesus' biggest concern isn't just dealing with our circumstances, it's dealing with us. When all of this is said and done, all that's left for God to have of you is you.
Only when we come to Jesus, acknowledging that we are an undeserving people, do we actually feel the fullness of his grace.
