Summary
Peter teaches believers to view suffering differently than the world, calling them "beloved" by God to anchor their identity beyond cultural rejection. Christians should expect persecution as followers of Christ, rejoice in suffering that connects them to Jesus, and respond with integrity by doing good while trusting God's justice and faithfulness.
Highlights
You may be completely unloved to the world, but your identity as a Christ follower is someone who is beloved by God.
When we understand that we are completely beloved by God, we don't have to go looking for love in other people. My worth is only found in that Jesus Christ, God, the Father and the Holy Spirit say that you are a beloved son or daughter of the King.
If a perfect man suffered persecution to the worst death that people could imagine at the time, why would you ever be spared?
