Summary
Exodus 40 describes God's glory-filled presence descending upon the newly constructed tabernacle, marking the culmination of God's promise to dwell among His people despite their repeated sin and disobedience. The sermon emphasizes that God chooses to draw near to sinners through grace, and applies this truth through Jesus's incarnation and the indwelling Holy Spirit, calling listeners to responsively follow God's leading in their daily lives.
Highlights
If that's how we respond about such small things, how much more amazing is it that the God of creation, the God who created you, the God at whom all power is at his disposal, has chosen to come and dwell with us.
Most of life is not lived up on the mountain. It's lived in the wilderness. And as we go into the wilderness, God says, I want you as my children to not just stay up here on the Mount, I want you to rely on my presence day after day after day as you walk in the wilderness on the way to your eternal promised land.
In life, don't move until the cloud moves. Wherever the cloud moves, that's where you're supposed to go.
