Summary
Jesus declares himself the Good Shepherd who provides abundant life now and eternal life forever, contrasting his trustworthy care with false shepherds and Satan's deception. The sermon explores five implications of Jesus's shepherding: his competence, trustworthiness, intimate knowledge of believers, commitment to seek lost sheep, and willingness to die for them.
Highlights
The fight of the Christian life is believing the truth that Jesus is a good shepherd, not a bad one. The fight of your life is believing the truth about God rather than the lies that Satan wants to sow into your heart and into your mind.
If you are where you are because you're following Jesus, then you're exactly where he wants you to be. He doesn't make mistakes. He's not confused.
Jesus is willing to wound you if it's the only way to stop you from wandering. That's true. He loves you too much to let you wander away to your demise.
