Summary
Paul instructs Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:1-2 to embody the pattern of the Christian life: know Jesus by being strengthened by His grace, then make Jesus known by faithfully passing the gospel to others who will multiply it further. The sermon explores how believers experience God's grace through means like preaching the gospel to themselves, then live it out by investing in faithful disciples and pursuing gospel multiplication.
Highlights
God does not use ability. He uses our availability. God doesn't call to be on his team the equipped. God calls people and then he equips those by the Holy Spirit whom he has called.
In Christ there's nothing that you can do that would make God love you anymore. There's also nothing that you can do that will make God love you any less because if you are in Christ you are safe because of the gospel.
You are not fundamentally a good person who makes a mistake every once in a while but ultimately good. You are fundamentally a person with a hardened heart toward God who wants to go your own way and have your own selfish desires met.
