Summary
Using John 11 and the resurrection of Lazarus, the pastor teaches that while Jesus' resurrection does not remove present suffering, it provides eternal hope grounded in Christ's victory over death and sin. Believers can endure suffering knowing that death's sting has been defeated and God will ultimately restore all things.
Highlights
The resurrection of Jesus does not remove your suffering, but it does offer you hope in the midst of it.
When you are weeping and when you are suffering and when you don't understand, Jesus is weeping with you. He's at your bedside table, and he is so moved by our pain and he is so moved by our suffering that he did something about it.
The cross of Jesus Christ is the already burned over place. It is the place where the wrath of God has fallen entirely for your sins. And so if you are standing in the already burned over place of the cross, you do not have to fear the judgment of God.
