Summary
Jesus teaches that the kingdom of heaven is like a wedding feast where a king invites all people—not just the originally privileged guests—to celebrate his son. Those who respond with genuine faith and repentance, accepting Christ's righteousness, are clothed in the wedding garment and join God's family; those who ignore the invitation or attempt to enter on their own terms are cast out.
Highlights
The main thing that keeps people from the kingdom of God in the city that I've seen is just sports clubs, seriously. I have a test coming up. I have this hobby. Work's been kinda crazy lately. I got a boyfriend. I got a girlfriend. I'm just really busy right now.
You cannot come in your own clothes no matter how clean and polished and beautiful you think those clothes might be. You actually need a garment, a covering, that represents a wedding garment, and that's not something you can find in your closet.
We need a wedding garment because we're the one standing at the altar. You're actually the one that's gonna be joined to God forever, not just one of the guests who get to watch it happen.
