Summary
Romans 8:1 proclaims that believers in Christ face no condemnation, marking a decisive shift from the old life of sin (the "then") to the new reality of freedom (the "now"). The pastor challenges listeners to stop living by past patterns and align their daily behavior with their transformed identity in Christ.
Highlights
Following Jesus is not just intellectual agreement, although that's part of it. Following Jesus is hopefully not only a head thing, but a heart thing where God begins to move us.
Conviction is good, shame is bad. Conviction says you're wrong, come back to God and get made right. Shame says you're wrong, God doesn't wanna see you ever again.
You don't have to live in the then any longer. You don't have to be defined by sin, dominated by sin. But today, you can experience the conviction of God and turn in faith to Jesus.
