Sermon
Unreasonable Prayer
Cross Church
Speaker: Nick Floyd
October 27, 2024 · 33 min
Summary
Jesus demonstrates an unreasonable pattern of prayer by rising early to spend time alone with the Father before a demanding day of ministry. The sermon challenges listeners to make daily time with God their priority, arguing that sustainable service requires daily spiritual refueling and that parents must reject cultural pressures that compromise the family's commitment to God.
Highlights
Is it the first thing in your day? Or would you say, well, first thing I do, I pull up my phone, check text, emails, I scroll social media for two hours, and then I get up out of bed?
You can do what God has called you to do in your career, in your family, your marriage, your parenting, what God has called you to do here at the church, but you've got to have time with the Father every single day.
Your kids will never prioritize what you marginalize. They'll never prioritize what you marginalize, and so if they are raised in a home where the things of God are continually marginalized, they will never prioritize the things of God.
