Summary
God interrupted Jacob's comfortable life in Haran, calling him to return home with his family and possessions despite great risk. To obey God's word, Jacob needed three things: God's word to set his goals, God's people to encourage him, and God's presence to give him courage. Believers today face the same need when God calls them to risky obedience.

To become a Christian means to respond when Jesus interrupts your life, and to grow as a Christian means to continually be interruptible.
The courage to face your fears doesn't come from looking inside of you, it comes from knowing who walks beside you.
Hard, difficult things don't get easier when you put them off. They get harder.
