Sermon
With Us, For Us
Mercy Hill Church - Cincinnati

Summary
Using Joel's call to repentance during locust judgment, the sermon contrasts empty excuses (denial, ignorance, blame) with genuine repentance—a full-hearted turn from sin to God. True repentance grieves sin deeply, seeks restored intimacy with God, and marks believers transformed by the Holy Spirit.
Highlights
Repentance is us changing our posture towards sin. We're changing our posture from sin to God, from something that we should not do to something that we should do. We're moving from hiding and running from God to running to him and away from sin.
God may be the only relationship that that's true in your life where no matter how dark it gets, there's always a way back. He's like a father beckoning his children saying, 'No matter how bad it is, tell me the truth. Come to me.'
True repentance is a wholehearted thing that says, I want you and you alone. When you want to give lip service to God but keep hidden things around you, that's false repentance.
