Summary
Paul rebukes the Corinthian church for irreverent observance of communion, where wealthy members ate and drank before the poor arrived, creating divisions and dishonoring Christ's sacrifice. Believers must examine themselves and partake with sobriety and reverence, recognizing both Christ's broken body and His people, the church.
Highlights
We don't come, we don't have to be worthy to come to Jesus. He gives us that worth through His blood, through His sacrifice.
If we take a national anthem and a flag that seriously, ought we not to take the bread and the cup much more seriously, a million times, a billion times more seriously?
When we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned with the world.
