Summary
Jesus tells Nicodemus that spiritual rebirth—not religious performance or good works—is required to enter God's kingdom. Through repentance and faith in Christ's death and resurrection, a person receives a new heart and the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence.
Highlights
You can come to Jesus. He says you can come, he says he can change your life, he can forgive your sin, he can give you a new heart, he can place his spirit within you. But you must come to Jesus.
Nothing shows a person's hardness of heart more than when they refuse to change, even when God is clearly dealing with them.
