Summary
Paul instructs Timothy that discipleship means passing on gospel teaching to faithful people who will teach others, creating a multiplying movement of disciple-makers. The pastor challenges believers to be ready to be discipled, to model Christ-like living worth imitating, and to intentionally multiply disciples rather than merely add converts.
Highlights
The goal of discipleship is to make me ready to disciple others. Meaning in my commitment to being discipled, I am also choosing to commit to discipling one to two men every year for the rest of my life.
If everyone in the church prayed like you did, read their word like you did, confessed sin like you did, served like you did, how Christ-like would our church be?
The most effective battleground for the kingdom is not in large pulpits, conferences, and retreats. It's kitchen tables and living rooms and coffee shops.
