Summary
Drawing from 1 John 3, the sermon establishes that Christians are already God's children through faith in Christ, yet must embody this identity through sanctification. The pastor argues that without a powerful vision rooted in God's story, the world's influences ($300 billion in annual advertising) will shape people into someone else's image instead of Christ's.
Highlights
If you don't have a powerful enough vision for your life, then the world will give you theirs.
You need to become who you are. Because if you're in Christ, you have the relationship with God, you have the status, you have the identity, but if you're going to experience your life as a child of God, then that now needs to be embodied and lived out in every corner of your life.
We live out of the story we surround ourselves with. And so I try to remember who I am every morning because if I don't remind myself who I am by reminding myself who God is, I promise I will live from a different story.
